How Vacuum Vent Valves Work?

A vacuum vent valve remains closed while the pressure inside the tank stays within its normal operating range. When internal pressure falls below the valve’s set point, the valve opens and allows air or inert gas to enter. This restores the pressure balance between the vessel and its surroundings.

Once the pressure returns to an acceptable level, the valve closes again. This automatic tank breathing process helps prevent structural damage without requiring manual operation.
